Words, Spoons, and Puzzles

Yes, I know this is an overdue update....
Alli is almost 15 months old, and we can no longer keep track of her vocabulary.  She says and repeats new words every day, which means it's time to watch what we say!  "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" is her favorite song, and she'll sing along with us.  When she wants us to sing, she'll ask by saying, "E-I-E-I-O... moo moo!"  It's a nice break from "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider."

This morning (after Lisa's guilt trip) I decided it was time to get brave; I handed Alli a spoon and bowl of yogurt.  Casting aside visions of yogurt-covered hair and Cabo happily slurping strawberry goodess off the the kitchen floor, I held my breath.  As it turns out, I had absolutely nothing to worry about!

I don't know why Mom was so worried.

There's nothing to it!

(Just experimenting.)

I can't waste any of it!

You underestimate me.

I'm a BIG girl!

I'll bet ice cream scoops up just as easily!

All done, see?

What's for dessert?

Alli is quite good at completing her wooden puzzles.  She can easily put the pieces in the right spot, but now she's turned it into a game.  She'll pick up a piece, purposely put it in the wrong spot and say, "Nooooo!" before moving to another incorrect spot and saying it again.  This continues until she's tried every incorrect place before smiling and putting it on the right spot.  So silly!

Yes, I like to do all four of my puzzles at once.

It goes... there.

Yes, I took this out of a cupboard that I don't belong in...

... but you can't possibly get mad at this face, can you?

Giraffe hugs!

My parents wish I was this innocent all the time. :)

Excuse me... I'm talking to you!

Hahahahahahahaha.... I have you all right where I want you!

Fun at the Fair

Last week we took Alli to the Puyallup Fair.  She loved the cows!

I "mooed" at every cow I saw!

Unfortunately, they didn't always "moo" back.

The chicks were also pretty awesome.  I kept insisting on going back the them each time my mom tried to walk away.

However, the absolute BEST thing about the fair was my first curly fry!

What is this thing?

This is not a yogurt melt.

Oh, well.  It'll do.

Hey, look!  This is pretty good!

You should try some!

Excuse me, I'm performing.

Grandpa, please help me put my sandal on.  It completes my outfit.

C'mon, I know we can squeeze my sausage foot in!

I can't show how uncomfortable these things are!  I must be strong.

After all, beauty is pain!

Thanks, Grandpa!  And thanks, Great Uncle Greg, for my snazzy outfit!

I'm on a Boat!

We went up to Port Townsend on Saturday because Uncle Chris wanted to take us out for a "cruise."  He was manning one of the vessels at the Festival for Wooden Boats.

The nice fireman said this life vest was my size, but I think he was mistaken.  (Either that, or I haven't competely grown into my cheeks just yet.)

Please get me out of this thing!  It's squeezing the life out of me!

Uncle Chris and our cruise ship.

At least the weather was good!

I almost didn't make it, I'll tell ya.  That life vest was horrible!

Bunny, I'll make sure you never have to go through what I went through.

Cabo, you gotta hear about what I went through.  I battled a life vest and won!

Ooooooh, life vest, you're not so scary!  Big girl, here!

I look danger right in the face!

Hahahaha!  Bring it on!  I laugh in the face of danger!

Food, Folks, and Fun

A week ago, we decided to give Alli a fork (yikes!) after she kept attempting to stab at her food with a spoon.  To our amazement, she successfully ate the rest of her meal with the fork!  She began with her left hand, but then switched to her right hand.  I suppose you need to try out both hands to see which one feels right, right?

This isn't so hard.

Cousin Chase just turned 3!  I had a great time at his party.  However, I think he is completely unaware of the sticky Dorito mess he has on his face.

Landon and I spent quality time discussing the meaning of life.

 The Thinker.

I may not have really enjoyed my own birthday cake, but I was definitely loving this cupcake!

Chase and his beloved Uncle Mike played some hoops.

Chase thought it was AWESOME when his beloved Uncle Mike took a turn!

Saying "good morning" to some of my friends.

Really? Does it look like I'm still hungry?

Mom loves it when I pull the clothes out of the dryer and onto the floor.  I even put them back in the dryer when I'm done because I'm such a good helper!

More Itsy Bitsy Spider???  Please???

 Busted!!

Playing hide-and-seek with Bunny and Monkey George.

 I FOUND BUNNY!!!

Just practicing my runway walk (and enjoying the dread in my parents' eyes)!
