Beating the Heat

With record-breaking temperatures in our part of the state, we decided to brave a 5-hour road trip to Spokane with a two-week old. Crazy? Perhaps, but Alli was a trooper. Boy, can that girl sleep in the car, thank goodness! We stayed for a week at Grandma and Grandpa's (in their fabulously air-conditioned home), and Alli met her great grandmothers on Mike's side, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Almost Two Weeks Old!

Our little eating machine is plumping up! Last week Alli lost about a pound in four days because she really didn't feel like eating a whole lot. However, after realizing just how hungry she actually was, she put that pound back on (and a bit more) in three days. We couldn't have been more excited, and now she is working on turning into a little meatball. :)

One Week Old

Today, Allison is officially one week old. So far, she's turning out to be a pretty mellow baby. For the last couple of nights, she even slept for over five hours straight. She only cries when she has a reason, but I'm sure that won't last... :) She is so sweet and makes the perfect addition to our family - ask anybody! She has a crazy amount of hair, which seems to draw a lot of attention. Hair ribbons and ponytails, here we come!

Allison Britt Hanson has finally arrived!

Better late than never, but I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend!

Allison was born on July 13, 2009 at 8:26pm. She weighed in at 7lbs 11ozs and is 20.5 inches long and has a TON of hair. Alli and mom are doing great at the hospital and she should be coming home tomorrow to meet Cabo.

What's the point of a due date?

Alli? Where are you? Your due date has come and gone.... EVERYBODY'S waiting on you! Well, my next doctor's appointment is on Monday, so I guess we'll see if there's any progress by then....

With her due date fast approaching on July 3rd, we are anxiously awaiting for Alli's arrival. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that she's perfectly content where she's at and is in no hurry to meet everyone. Her room is all ready, though, so we are waiting, waiting, waiting....
