To Mt. Rainier... or not.

On Wednesday, our last day of expected hot sunshine, we headed up to Sunrise at Mt. Rainier.  We drove over an hour to the main entrance, just to be turned away.  WHAT???  The parking lot was full, so they wouldn't let us in.  Darn.  We ended up taking the ranger's advice and headed ten minutes west to Tipsoo Lake (which is more like an inflated puddle).  Unfortunately, she told everyone that, so we were constantly passing people on the trails.  Oh, well.  At least we got to see the mountain, right?

But, Daddy, I wanted to go to Mt. Rainier!!

Mt. Rainier from Lake Tipsoo.

Sooooo bright!

Mom, get out of our picture!!

Yes, Bunny and Monkey George are always close by.

After-nap hair is a very popular style around here.

Cabo:  I didn't sign up for this.

 Winding down.

I combed my own hair while Mom was changing my diaper!  Does it look okay?

Talking to the Jello box = endless entertainment.

Even the hallway carpet needs to be mowed every now and then.

 My doll pose.

 Another doll pose.

Multitasking?

This evening, Alli brought me the book, Let's Dance, Little Pookie, to read to her.  I know this book extremely well; we go waaaaaay back to the days where I had to read it up to seven times in a row, several times a day, to keep a certain little princess happy.  Anyway, after I read the first page, Alli quickly lost interest and grabbed her toy car carrier to play with.  As I put the book down, she turned back to me and motioned for me to continue the story.  As I began reading again, she immediately went back to the car carrier and "zoom-zoomed."  Her sound effects convinced me that we were done with the book, but as soon as I stopped reading, she turned back to me and insisted I keep reading.  I read the entire book out loud while she continued to "zoom-zoom" with her toy.  So much for thinking she wasn't paying attention; apparently she was just multitasking.

Finally able to show off some teeth!

Playing house.

Hugs for Cabo's foot.  Doesn't he look amused?

Moving in for a closer hug.  Cabo, you're coming across as extremely unappreciative.

After-hug hair.  (And Cabo didn't even thank me.)

After-nap hair.

After-dinner face.  This tray won't budge!!

For those of you who might be interested (and you know who you are), here's a picture from our seats at Saturday's Seahawk's game.  Not bad, huh?

A Mover and a Lover

Alli's been a full-fledged walker for about two weeks now, even though she took her first seven steps about eight weeks ago.  We've figured that she's just not going to do anything new until she can do it well!  Once she decided that she was ready to walk, there's been noooooo turning back!  She loves to carry her stuffed animals all over the house, giving them all hugs every chance she gets.  Alli will even hug the pages of books if there's an animal on them.  She's such a lover!

There's no holding me back now!

Shake that boo-tay....

Bear hugs!

Let me introduce Panda.  Auntie Laura took me to Build-A-Bear for my birthday so I could pick out anything I wanted.  Here she is.

I love Panda much better without clothes!

Ahh... naked is better.

Yes, Panda and Cow must both come for a ride.

How could I leave them behind?

Oops!  Apparently we were a little top-heavy.

We're ready.  Let's hit the road!

Such concentration.

Caught wearing my grumpy pants.

I picked out this shower curtain.  (Can you tell?)  At least... oh... six times a day, I visit and say hi to my monkey friends.

Our Little Diva

We recently took Alli's one-year photos.  I think we got some pretty good shots!

However, Alli proved to be a bit of a diva during her photo shoot....

Don't mess with the hair!

Do you see any teeth up there?  Are they coming in yet?

What if they never come in?

I just can't be photographed like this!

Oh, the HORROR!!

Okay, breathe.  I'm under control now.

This is a cow.  Did I order a cow?

Why can't you people get it right?!

Is it really that difficult?

I can't work under these conditions.

We're done?  That was fun!  Let's do it again!
